Adding Polygon Tokens to MetaMask Wallet
For Polygon MATIC tokens to appear on the wallet UI, you will need to add them manually. In addition to swop to get MATIC on MetaMask, you can also send MATIC to Polygon directly from the crypto Exchange sites such as Binance and Kucoit to your Metamask wallet and assign directly to Polygon with a small amount of service fee (cost normally less than MetaMask swop).
1. FIRST, HEAD TO POLYCONSCAN and find the token contract and details of the token you’d like to add. If the token is not on PolygonScan, make sure to get the contract address from the NFT or crypto project’s official website. Be careful with fake contracts created by scammers. The Best Practice on using wallet address is to NOT copy and paste the wallet addresses that you received from social media posts or online chat networks.
2.Return to MetaMask and click Import tokens.
3.Copy in the token’s contract address and MetaMask should automatically fill in the rest of the details. If not, add them manually. To finish, click [Add Custom Token].
4.Click Import Tokens.
5. Your wallet will now successfully display the balance of the token added.
With Polygon set up in your MetaMask wallet, you’re ready for processing transactions, collecting NFTs, interacting with DeFi DApps, and managing your cryptocurrency. You can swap tokens without leaving the extension. MetaMask isn’t just for the Ethereum network and Polygon, it supports the whole Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchain ecosystem, including Binance Smart Chain where you can also send the Matic token directly to your MetaMask wallet and assign directly to Polygon Network, and the service fee is usually lower than token swopping on MetaMask. Kucoin is another crypto exchange that offers a low-cost token liquidity service, where you can send the MATIC to your MetaMask wallet and line up directly to the Polygon network at the same time. These exchanges are mentioned here for our members who seek for their cost-effective token liquidity services, Maze.Art does not receive any compensation by referring these exchange sites.
By following our guide, now you should be able to buy NFTs on our marketplace with MATIC on Polygon Network without paying mint/gas fee, and you should be able to add more chains to explore as well.
